This one-day course is aimed at introducing you to the dynamic and exciting process of Art Therapy and its application for adults and children of all ages. An exciting combination of learning, experiential art-making and questions and answers in a group environment. No art experience required!

Art Therapy is a creative treatment process which is beneficial for people of all ages to assist in personal growth, insight and development. The course is targeted at all adults including professionals, therapists, educators, artists, parents and students (etc) who are curious about Art Therapy and want to gain a taste and experience of what it is about. The course is useful for both the novice and those who want a top-up from previous Art Therapy courses in a familiar, safe, creative and nurturing space.

The learning takes place through discussions, experiential art making and voluntary sharing (without judgment) within a dynamic group format. Introductory Art Therapy concepts will be introduced and discussed. A variety of art materials will be made available for experiential art-making, which is followed by a voluntary sharing and reflection of images within the group, which leads to greater insights into the art making process. Questions are explored during the workshop too.

The skills and experiences gained by participants at this seminar can be adapted to and incorporated in diverse work spheres as well as one’s personal life. This workshop is not run as frequently as the longer workshops but may be run upon request for existing groups of people, privately or professionally and for groups of therapists requiring CPD points.

PLEASE NOTE: This course does not equip you to practice as an Art Therapist. Art Therapy is a 2 year full-time Masters training.
