Description
Join the 1-Day Art Therapy & Mindfulness Workshop to explore and experience the ART of being present!
Imagine tapping into your innate creativity, with a focus on being in the moment, going with the flow, accessing the breath and releasing tension. Couple this with gaining insight, wellness, positivity, gratitude, playfulness and having fun through art.
“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” – Thomas Merton
Art has always been a form of creative human expression which enriches our human experience. It’s the main form of communication and expression. Art tells a story and helps us thrive in this world. Art is a form of living, healing, expanding and self-care.
This workshop incorporates various directed art-making experiential activities and teachings in the exploration of creativity and Mindfulness. No art experience is required as in Art Therapy there is no good or bad art and no judgement.
The facilitated reflection of art images with a qualified and registered Art Therapist aids the deeper working understanding of the Art Therapy process and the nature and value of accessing the use of symbols in images. Using the theme of Mindfulness, this workshop is a creative opportunity to explore how to be more present, be in a state of flow, access joy, positivity, courage and hope which of course has huge benefit in both our personal and professional lives.
Facilitated by Internationally trained (UK) and registered (HPCSA) Art Psychotherapist, creative coach and mom, Samantha Davis. Sam holds a psychodynamic frame but uses directive activities and other hands-on eclectic approaches and trainings such as Journey therapy, and her knowledge and informal training of archetypes, numerology, creative coaching and mindfulness in her dynamic Art Therapy workshops.
